Thank you so much for visiting.

I’m Hatty and I live and work in Cambridge, sharing my world with my husband, Myles; two cats, Dougal and Scout; and two little lurchers, Arthur and Martha. If you ever visit, you’ll get to know them all!

I’ve come to painting later in life and have some catching up to do. After many years in consulting, leadership and executive coaching, I returned to my first love of painting, at first part time, then as full time work. Since making the switch I haven’t looked back and so far, my work has found its way to collectors all over the UK and beyond, with pieces now in continental Europe, North America and Australia.

Some might say there is are no such things as coincidence, and recent diagnoses of not one but two neurodivergent conditions felt a bit like old friends waiting for the right time to knock. This life with paint is a drawn-out process of unmasking and truth-telling, driven by expression and feeling, and inspired by a search for peace.

A preoccupation with the natural world predominates. The series Where My Bones Are is concerned with place and belonging, even though my home turf is shown in vivid colour in the ongoing body titled ‘The Fens are Quite Interesting, Actually!’ This Summer’s curated group is titled ‘Perspectives’, about using painting as metaphor for the different ways in which we see the world around us. Find out more here.

On this site you’ll find a selection of past and present work, details of exhibitions, and how to get in touch. As well as original oil paintings, I also have some (very) limited edition fine art giclee prints, as well as cards, postcards and other lovely things. You can find these in the shop, but if you want to know more about any particular paintings, please do get in touch and book an appointment to visit. You’d be so welcome.
